Hot Enough for You?

This summer is set to be our hottest summer ever, and while it’s fun spending time in the park, most of the time we’re sweltering on buses, fainting on the tube or sweating it out in a traffic jam. And as the effect of climate change grows by the day, so does the amount of hot air and bluster spouted by politicians and businessmen on what we should do about it. When it comes to saving the world, most people don’t know what they’re talking about.

Luckily George Monbiot – scourge of big business, rilers of governments, arch-enemy of climate change deniers everywhere – does. And he needs your help.

We’re putting HEAT’s philosophy into practice by starting a campaign against standby buttons on TV remotes. Not only do THEY COST you money, THEY WRECK the planet’s ATMOSPHERE, so we believe there should be a button on the remote to turn your telly OFF. George will then take the petition to television manufacturers in the summer telling them to replace the standby buttons on remotes.
